Description
Knowledge Retention Ticket
Structured handover & conservation of operational knowledge
A structured transfer of operational knowledge when a key person leaves the organisation — either to a named successor, or into documentation that remains usable for whoever takes over later. The method is set in advance; how each session is configured depends on the situation at hand. Knowledge Retention Ticket.
What we do.
The programme answers one specific question: when this person leaves, what knowledge leaves with them, and how does the operationally critical part of it stay. It is not coaching, not system training, and not a substitute for the line-organisation handover that HR coordinates. It is a moderated extraction process, run from the outside, by someone whose only stake in the outcome is that the transfer actually works.
Knowledge Retention Ticket
How.
The format adapts to three situations. With a named successor — sessions alternate between interviews with the leaver, the successor, or both; the successor’s gaps drive the agenda as much as the leaver’s knowledge does. Without a successor yet — the focus shifts to preservation; sessions concentrate on the leaver and on system documentation, structured so the output remains usable for whoever eventually takes over. When cooperation is limited — we move to direct system access, work through the system, and send targeted questions back to the leaver in writing. In all three, the conversation alone is not the product; each session is followed by written synthesis.
Knowledge Retention Ticket
What you receive.
A working dossier with a domain glossary, decisions register, stakeholder map, heuristics collection, and risk register. Each section covers configuration, reasoning, workarounds, edge cases, and operational warnings. Final delivery includes an executive summary. The dossier is your property; we retain only anonymised methodological learnings.
