Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Key Aspects of the Steering Jour Fixe
Who is this for?
Jour Fixe Steering is for decision-makers — department heads and above — running Digital Real Estate or ERP environments such as SAP RE-FX, Yardi, Planon, or Oracle. The format adapts to three situations: pure project steering when internal capacity is stretched, temporary leadership when a role is vacant or in transition, and team stabilisation when group dynamics block progress. Most effective for small teams of up to four people including the lead. You need the authority to give someone a clear mandate; without that, the format does not work.

How is a Jour Fixe block scheduled?
One block consists of two half-day sessions, scheduled within ten calendar days of each other. Beyond ten days, the cognitive thread between sessions breaks down. Sessions run on a fixed weekly cadence over the engagement period — six weeks to twelve months. Remote on a fixed day and time. On-site every two months recommended. In quiet phases, the cadence can be paused for weeks at no cost.

What does it cost and how do I pay?
€800 per block — two half-days at €400 each. Payment is by credit card at booking. The price reflects four hours of structured work per half-day: forty minutes meeting, forty minutes preparation and follow-up, twenty minutes break, ninety minutes documentation, forty minutes system or source research. About sixty percent of the work happens outside the meeting itself. Optional full-week email availability for short interim questions can be added on request.

Do I need to register to buy Jour Fixe Steering?
Yes. Jour Fixe Steering is available only after a short verification step that confirms you operate in a real estate, corporate, or public sector context. Registration places you in the Operator track. System Integrators have a separate product range and cannot book Jour Fixe Steering.

What happens in each session?
At minimum, one decision is made, one blocker addressed, or one responsibility clarified. Minutes are documented; full protocol for Werkvertrag compliance. If no substantive topic exists on a given week, the session is cancelled and you do not pay for it. Authority levels are defined at intake — what can be escalated, what requires your sign-off, who must attend.

What is the philosophy behind this format?
Old-school in the best sense. Modern leadership styles — flatter, softer, more consensus-driven — build healthier organisations over time. We support that and use it ourselves. But when a project is stalled, a role is vacant, or a team has lost its rhythm, the fastest way back to momentum is classical steering: clear mandate, weekly accountability, written minutes, decisions taken. The Jour Fixe is a temporary intervention, not a leadership model for the next five years. When structure returns, we step out.

What is not included?
This is not embedded consulting. No five-day presence. No body-leasing. No sub-contracting. The same person shows up every week. The format is not a question-and-answer session — there is no entitlement to answers on individual technical questions. The service is project steering, not system training. Not coaching either. Juniors in the room often pick up management practices — moderation, accountability, project documentation — but that is a side effect, not the purpose.

Is artificial intelligence used in the work?
Not for content or structure. All meeting facilitation, decisions, documentation drafts, and research are produced by the consultant. AI is used as a final readability filter on protocols, so each session report reaches the client in the clearest possible form. The four-hour breakdown per half-day reflects human work with minimal machine output.

In what language does this happen?
Spoken in English or German. Written minutes and supporting documents are available in English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, or Spanish. All non-English versions are high-quality AI translations; the English version is authoritative in case of doubt.

Can I cancel a block?
Cancellations are generally possible but apply to individual cart positions only. If you are unsure about a long commitment, split the booking into smaller cart positions you feel safe with. Cancellations may trigger a cancellation fee depending on the number of days remaining until the planned engagement.

When does the engagement end?
The goal for temporary engagement is to make us unnecessary even. When the structure holds without us, we say so. Knowledge transfer is part of every engagement, and when we leave, the format stays. Minimum engagement is one month — beyond that, you decide when to stop. No lock-in: if the format does not fit, you exit. Sometimes the team learns to lead itself through the engagement, which is the best possible outcome.

Why is this format efficient — even compared to an on-site leader?
One word: accountability. Old-school project steering, run consistently. Most steering meetings fail in the same place: someone comes with a topic, the conversation widens, no decision is taken, and the next week starts where the last one ended. The four-hour block breaks that pattern. Each block forces preparation, decision, documentation, and follow-up into a single accountable unit — the consultant cannot deliver the block without producing one decision, one cleared blocker, or one clarified responsibility. The structure is what makes the format effective; without it, you are paying for conversation.

How much can we save?
The format saves money in two ways, both indirect. First, by filling a temporary leadership role without hiring for one — we stabilise difficult team situations, report on what we see, and prepare a thorough handover to a carefully chosen new department or team lead. We buy you time and get the job done. Compared to the usual on-site interim lead, you save roughly eighty percent, partly because in periods of smooth operation the Jour Fixe can be paused at no cost.
Our goal is to make ourselves dispensable. A twelve-month engagement at €800 per week comes to around €40,000. Second, by reducing the cost of stalled decisions: every blocker carried for two extra weeks in an SAP RE-FX project compounds across teams, vendors, and milestones. The savings are not in the line item; they are in what does not happen — the wrong hire, the delayed go-live, the audit finding that surfaces too late.
